<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oh, that's horrible! I sent a note as well, but in my note I told them I wanted to be called before they did any work on Lindsey and Kirsten. I told them I wanted the original neck strings left on and that is when I was told they didn't use the plastic ties anymore. This was this past Thursday. Mine had better come back with the strings and not the ties. I don't blame you for sending them back!Originally posted by AG4Alison:
Guess again! I just got my Lindsey and Kailey back from the hospital BOTH with plastic neck ties after I wrote a letter specifically requesting the neck ties to remain. Once the return label arrives they are both going back for their neck ties! Grrrr!
I did ask for the old head for Lindsey and was told they no longer send those back. Instead they keep the old heads for a few months to make sure you're happy. AG keeps the old heads and limbs and uses the parts to make whole dolls that they give to charity.

They do look REALLY bad with that gusset though! Since the gusset is to make tieing the STRINGS easier, shouldn't they not put it on ones with zip ties?
If you're going to the store yourself, you can get a Personal Shopper to help you find a doll with neckstrings, if there aren't any you like out on the floor.
My PS at AGPC helped me find my 2 dolls, and she was very patient with my indecision and downright pickiness!! She brought out doll after doll, until I found the ones that were just right.
And a PS will check out your purchases at a special PS counter, where you don't have to wait in line!
At least, they do in Chicago (don't know about LA).
Best of all, there's NO charge for the services of a Personal Shopper! They are absolute treasures!! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Now I am worried. Lissie hasn't come back from AGh yet . . . . I did write a note, but now I am scared that they may disregard it!Originally posted by AG Mommy:
My DD'd Elizabeth just came back from the hospital too. She was sent in with neck strings and returned with a plastic zippy! That was 2 weeks ago.

That gusset is really unflattering (I think a neck tie would have to be tied VERY carefully to make it look OK; it's even worse with the plastic tie!). If I were to get a doll with a plastic tie and it bothered me, I definitely would buy a tie of my own and use it the way someone suggested somewhere (though I can't find it). It wouldn't be any harder than rethreading a drawstring that came out of a pair of shorts.
That said, the tie part on the pic Kym posted doesn't look bad at all (though it definitely lacks the charm of the strings, and I'm sure it makes some dolls look bad). My problem, though, is what it did to the body.
